Connecting Basic Peripherals Devices

If we say Computer peripherals they are not part of any system unit. They are devices that are attached to a computer. They are important because they provide the input and output functions in order for the users to perform their tasks.

There are many different peripheral devices, but they fall into three general categories:

1. Input devices, such as a mouse and a keyboard
2. Output devices, such as a monitor and a printer
3. Storage devices, such as a hard drive or flash drive

The basic peripherals that you will need to start up the computer are:

Monitor – it is an output device or a display screen which enables the user to view the current actions like typing, watching videos, viewing photos, and etc.

Keyboard – it is an input device which is needed to type commands and enter information into the computer. Mostly it is use to typing jobs, some sort of shortcuts, and other functions.

Mouse – it is an input device use for selecting items that are displayed in the monitor. It controls the movement of the cursor or pointer to do a specific task.

It is the main part of the computer system and houses the Central Processing Unit (CPU), motherboard, memory, storage devices, expansion cards and the power supply.
